Laura-Brusky-MD

Laura Brusky, MD

Medical Degree: University of Rome “La Sapienza”- Roma, Italy

Residency Training: ENT in Rome before moving here in 2001, then worked at MCW as Research Assistant in ENT department and Dermatology before my Residency at MCW Family Medicine Residency St. Joseph program

Prior Experience: Lakeshore since 2009 until affiliated with Aurora in 2012. Sport medicine team Doctor for Marquette University Female Lacrosse team from 2014-16.

Interests: Women’s Health, Sport’s Medicine and Medical Fields of ENT.

Interests: Obstetrics, cosmetic procedures, minor surgery

Prior Experience: Team Physician for professional and semi-professional, college and high school sports teams, covering physician for Milwaukee Ballet, Florentine Opera Company. Irish Dance Instructor with the Cashel Dennehy School of Irish Dance.

Interests: Sports Medicine, especially dance related injuries, Women’s Health, Community Medicine.

Kevin Hamberger, PhD

Professor & Director of Behavioral Health

Graduate School: University of Arkansas

Internship: Wood V.A. Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Interests: Stress management and treatment of patients with chronic illness. He is very active in the field of domestic violence and the healthcare response.

William Hueston, MD

Medical Degree: Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland, OH

Residency Training: Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus OH (also did a faculty development fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill.)

Prior Experience: 7 years working in Frenchburg, KY, with the public health service then was a residency faculty member and residency director at the Eau Claire Family Medicine Residency Program before going to the Medical University of South Carolina as Chair of Family Medicine for 15 years. I have been in Milwaukee as Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for MCW since November 2013.

Interests: Music, playing golf, doing crossword puzzles

Heather Martens, PsyD

Medical Degree: Masters of Science in Psychology – Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology

Residency Training: Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s All Saints Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine, WI

Prior Experience: Clinical Program Director on an acute psychiatric inpatient unit at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and held positions of Medical Staff Organization President, Medical Staff Organization Vice-President, and Medical Staff Organization Vice-President of Quality. Teaching at Alverno College and Community Psychology and Adult Psychopathology as a faculty member at the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology.

Interests: Providing trauma informed clinical services in a community based setting, integrative behavioral healthcare, research and psychopharmacology

Linda Meurer, MD

Medical Degree: Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan

Residency Training: MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn Illinois

Prior Experience: 2-year fellowship in Academic Medicine and Clinical Investigation at the University of Minnesota, along with an MPH degree. I’ve been at MCW since 1994.

Interests: Family Medicine, Community Engagement, Health Promotion & Health Workforce Development

Jennifer Ovide, RN, BSN

Community Medicine Clinical Coordinator

Medical Degree: BSN from Marquette University (1979) – Milwaukee, WI

Residency Training: Specialized in Family Mental Health and Children’s Behavioral Medicine

Prior Experience: Many years in Health Education and Program Development

Interests: Integrative Medicine and improving the Residency experience. Guitar, singing, horses and big dogs. Married with 5 kids. I have the best job coordinating the Community Medicine experience and working with the residents in many creative programs to build a healthier community. From Minnesota but raised a Packer fan!

 

Michael Plotkin, DO

Medical Degree: Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine

Residency Training: I did a one year rotating osteopathic internship at Garden City Hospital – Michigan, and then completed family medicine residency at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee

Prior Experience: Columbia St. Mary’s at the Glendale Clinic (since 2001)

Interests: Using osteopathic manipulation to treat a variety of musculoskeletal and other issues. Spending time with family, riding my motorcycle and playing tennis
