Family Care Center transformed into holiday restaurant

On the wintry evening of December 3rd, the conference room at the Family Care Center was transformed into a holiday restaurant in hopes of giving some special patients a unique dining experience.

Equipped with handmade menus, the “wait staff” consisted of med students, residents from the Family Care Center and the creators of the project themselves. The dinner was dreamt up by Dr. Reema Shah, second year resident and Kelsey Prestby, nurse Jenny’s youngest daughter studying dietary and food science. Residents were given fancy invitations to choose someone who might not otherwise have a chance to eat at a restaurant.

Jean Malone and friends, another FCC employee, was responsible for turning the room into a Christmas themed cafe. In the kitchen, the chefs bustled with Dr. Drew Stollfus organizing the creation of about 45 gourmet pizzas.

With Christmas music playing in the background, the party seemed a wonderful success with the intent of spreading holiday cheer. Next dream… maybe a Valentine’s dance???
